Demographics Details in Client Profile

As part of the ONC Certification process, Healthie now enables providers to record, change, and access their clients' Demographic Details.

To help providers better understand genetic predisposition and aid in holistic reporting, we've added options for Race, Ethnicity, Sexual Orientation, Gender, and Pronouns within the Client Profile > Actions > Personal Information


Race and Ethnicity

Within the Personal Information field, you'll see a Race drop-down menu. When this drop-down is clicked on, you may select one of the following options:

  • Asian
  • Black or African American
  • Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander
  • Other Race
  • White
  • Choose not to disclose

Note: At the moment, you cannot select more than one race option.

Next, you'll see an Ethnicity drop-down menu. When this drop-down is clicked on, you may select one of the following options:

  • Hispanic or Latino
  • Not Hispanic or Latino
  • Choose not to disclose


Sexual Orientation, Gender, and Pronouns

Within the Personal Information field, you'll see a Sexual Orientation drop-down menu. When this drop-down is clicked on, you may select one of the following options:

  • Straight or heterosexual
  • Lesbian, gay or homosexual
  • Bisexual
  • Other (opens up a free text box allowing you to enter in a "Custom Sexual Orientation")
  • Don't know
  • Choose not to disclose

Next, you'll see a Gender drop-down menu. When this drop-down is clicked on, you may select one of the following options:

  • Female
  • Male
  • Female-to-Male (FTM)/Transgender Male/Trans Man
  • Male-to-Female (MTF)/Transgender Female/Trans Woman
  • Genderqueer, neither exclusively male nor female
  • Other (opens up a free text box allowing you to enter in a custom "Gender Identity")
  • Choose not to disclose

Note: When you select "Other," a box titled "Sex on file with client's insurance" will be visible. Please note that this field is required for insurance billing purposes.

Finally, you'll see a Pronouns drop-down menu. When this drop-down is clicked on, you may select one of the following options:

  • She/her
  • He/him
  • They/them
  • Other (opens up a free text box allowing you to enter in a "Custom Pronoun")
