Clinical Decision Support

As part of our ONC certification, we now offer Clinical Decision Support (CDS) across a handful of metrics in the client profile, including:

  • A1c
  • Body fat percentage
  • Weight
  • Waist circumference

Providers will now be notified when the value of an entry falls outside of the "normal range," as defined by medical research from sources including the National Institutes of Health. The warning will not prevent Providers from adding and saving values considered out of range.

This is a first step in creating a CDS system that supports doctors by providing real-time, evidence-based information and recommendations. For example, when a patient shows symptoms of a common condition such as diabetes, the CDS system could suggest appropriate diagnostic tests, provide a range of treatment options, and recommend strategies for ongoing patient management.

Additional updates will be rolled out later this year as we upgrade Clinical Decision Support to meet the new HTI-1 Rule DSI criteria.
