Healthie has integrated with third-party partners to enable the fulfillment of labs within Healthie and for streamlined coordination across the Lab Companies, our organizations, and your clients.
The Healthie + Rupa Health Integration enables mutual customers to draft lab orders and receive lab results directly within Healthie.

Can licensed clinicians bypass a physician network requirement when ordering labs?
Practitioners with an NPI can order labs and have results delivered directly to them from the lab.
Rupa maintains contact with labs throughout the process. If there are Specimen Issues with a patient’s sample, the lab will contact Rupa. Rupa resolves these between the lab and the patient and message you about the resolution. If a recollection kit is needed, Rupa will send your patient a new kit, free of charge.
Can non-licensed clinicians order labs with a physician network add-on option?
Physician Services is designed for Health and Wellness Professionals who want to increase the accessibility of lab testing for their clients on Rupa. All Health and Wellness Professionals must review Rupa's terms and conditions of the service, and be in good standing & compliant with any requirements by their state.
Are there any credential requirements when signing up for Rupa?
To use the Site to place product or service orders for patients, you must have – and you represent that you do have – appropriate authorization or license from government authorities or regulatory agencies applicable to you and your practice of medicine (or another healthcare profession). By placing any order through the Site, you certify that you are licensed to practice and order lab testing in your state.
To confirm this, Rupa may ask you for various information needed to verify your identity and qualifications to provide healthcare services (or order lab testing). This may include requirements for you to provide Rupa with your National Provider Identifier (NPI), a copy of your driver’s license, documents confirming your education and training, licenses, or specialty certificates, etc.
What lab vendors does Rupa work with?
Will all lab results pull into Healthie?
All results are receivable by Healthie. If Rupa can receive it, then Healthie can. Within your Labs tab, results will show the date the folder/doc was pulled into Healthie (vs the date the lab order was processed).
Can I sign up for Rupa if I am located outside of the United States?
Rupa is available to limited international providers. To learn more if you qualify, read more here.
Can I have a client pay for a lab order directly?
You can choose to pay for the lab on your client's behalf, or have the client pay directly via Rupa. If you've selected for your client to pay, you can learn more about the client experience here: https://www.rupahealth.com/patient-experience
Can my admin or support staff manage Rupa Lab ordering?
At this time, only licensed providers with ordering privileges can place Rupa lab orders via Healthie workflows.
Does Rupa accept insurance?
Right now, Rupa is cash-pay only for all lab tests except stool tests from Diagnostic Solutions and Infinite Allergy; which you can order through Medicare if the ordering physician is PECOS certified for Part B Medicare Claims.
Note: The patient must also have traditional Medicare as their primary insurance, and have part B coverage. Other forms of Medicare, such as Medicare Advantage, will not be accepted. If these requirements are not met, patients will be liable for the cost of the test and will be invoiced.
Friendly reminder: only these practitioners can place orders through Medicare: MD, DO, NP, PA. You won't see the Medicare option in the drop-down if you have a different credential.
Does Rupa help patients navigate insurance reimbursement?
For cash-pay labs, Rupa allows patients to pay for their order using HSA, FSA, or payment plans. Patients can decide on their own if they wish to pursue insurance coverage retroactively.
For eligible orders, Rupa will provide pre-filled Superbills for patients per order, that patients can choose to use and submit to insurance. They are welcome to create Superbills on their own leveraging a blank downloadable PDF template.
- Eligible orders must be patient pay, without physician services
- Patients using payment plans may reach out to support@rupahealth.comupon full payment for a pre-filled Superbill
