E-Labs Direct allows providers to order, track, and receive lab results directly within Healthie, reducing manual work and streamlining operations. If you are currently using Change Healthcare for lab integrations, this guide outlines the step-by-step process to migrate to E-Labs Direct smoothly.

How to Transition from Change to E-Labs Direct
To ensure a smooth migration, follow these three key steps:
Step 1: Schedule a Demo
To get started, reach out to your Customer Success Manager to schedule a demo of E-labs Direct. A Healthie team member will guide you through how E-Labs Direct functions within Healthie and how it can seamlessly replace your existing Change integration.
Step 2: Gather Requirements & Identify Any Blockers
During the demo, the Healthie team will assess your requirements and identify any potential blockers for transitioning. Key considerations include:
- Ensuring that all necessary functionality aligns with your workflow.
- Identifying any dependencies that may impact the transition timeline.
Step 3: Account Number Cutover
Your lab account number can only be used in a single integration at a time. Because of this, a coordinated cutover is required:
- The existing integration with Change will be turned off.
- The new integration with E-Labs Direct will be activated.
The Healthie team will work with you to schedule this transition at a time that minimizes disruption.

What happens to my existing lab orders?
Your existing orders in Change will remain accessible, but new orders will be processed through E-Labs Direct after the transition.
What happens if I have unresulted lab orders when I cut over to E-labs Direct?
The lab will still be associated with the your lab account number, so you can find the results by going directly your lab's (ex. Quest) portal.
