Tracking Payments from Insurance Payers
The Insurance Payments tab is a reporting view available to organizations using Healthie’s integrated insurance clearinghouse partner, Claim.MD. This tab displays a consolidated list of all insurance payments received via Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA / 835 files), making it easier to reconcile payments, track revenue, and monitor outstanding funds.
This feature is available only for providers that have activated the Claim.MD integration within their Healthie account.

Overview
The Payments tab helps teams manage insurance-related revenue more efficiently by offering:
- Centralized payment visibility across payers, dates, and rendering providers
- Streamlined reconciliation through sortable, structured payment data
- Improved financial oversight with payment statuses and payer-level tracking
- Complete ERA access, with the ability to view and expand payment-level details
- Support for non-electronic workflows, including manual payment logging
Understanding the Insurance Payments Tab
The Payments tab provides a unified view of all ERA-derived payments from Claim.MD, with several key features designed to support billing and administrative workflows:
Aggregated Insurance Payment List
Each ERA received from Claim.MD automatically populates the Payments list. Every payment entry includes:
- Paid Date
- Payer
- Source (Automatic from Claim.MD)
- Rendering NPI
- Wire / Check# (when available)
- Paid Amount
- Deposit Status
Payment Status Tracking
You can maintain a running record of which payments have been confirmed in your bank account by marking payment entries as:
- Pending— deposit pending
- Deposited — deposit confirmed
Statuses can be updated at any time to support your reconciliation workflow.

Healthie cannot automatically confirm bank deposits, since we do not have access to your bank account. After confirming the deposit on your end, simply update the payment’s status in Healthie.
How to Access the Payments Tab
- Navigate to Billing > Insurance
- Select the Insurance Payments tab at the top of the page
Review the aggregated payment list, which can be sorted and filtered by columns such as:
- Paid Date
- Payer
- Source
- Rendering NPI
- Wire / Check#
- Paid Amount
- Deposit Status

Ways to View ERA Details
Full ERA Detail Access
Selecting the [...] option for a payment > View Full ERA opens the complete ERA associated with that payment, including:
- Claim-level information
- Adjustments and remark codes
- Allowed amounts
- Service-line breakdown
- Payer-level details

Additionally, Healthie supports multiple views of ERA data, depending on your workflow:
From the CMS-1500 Claims tab
Open a claim to see the associated ERA information linked directly to that claim.
Within individual claim detail pages
If an ERA has been received for a specific claim, you’ll see ERA details surfaced alongside claim line items, adjustments, and payment information.
These complementary views give you flexibility depending on whether you're reviewing payments, researching specific claims, or performing line-level analysis.
