E-Rx and Medication Management on Mobile
Healthie offers an E-Rx integration with DoseSpot as an add-on to your Healthie plan, which enables clinical providers to prescribe medications electronically on behalf of their clients. E-Prescribing is available specifically for client located in the US and all US territories.
E-Rx is available for members on Healthie's Plus, Group, and Enterprise plans.

Once you are registered as a prescriber in DoseSpot, you will have the option to prescribe and view medication for your clients in the Healthie mobile app.
E-Prescribing from the Healthie mobile app is currently in development.
In this article:
View Client Medications
To view a client's medications in the mobile app, navigate to the client's profile and click on Medications.
This section in the client profile will display any currently reported medications, prescribed medications, as well as recorded drug allergies for that client.

Add, Edit, or Archive a Client Medication
Healthie makes it easy to manage, edit, and archive medications directly from the mobile app. A different process exists for managing any medications that have been e-prescribed through Healthie’s E-Rx feature.
Add a medication record for a client
From the Medications screen, click the ( + ) symbol at the top right of the screen to add a medication and/or order a prescription for that client.

To note a medication the client is taking, click Add Medication and enter the name of the medication you would like to add in the search bar.

Once you find the correct medication, fill out the appropriate fields:
- Dosage
- "Active" or "Inactive" status
- Any instructions for the client
- Start and end dates
- Any comments
Click Add at the top right of the screen to save the medication to your client’s records.

Edit or Delete a medication that was not e-prescribed
Medications that are self-reported, collected on intake, or manually recorded through the “Add Medication” function on web or mobile can be directly edited within the mobile app.
- Click the […] next to the medication you wish to edit.
- Select Edit or Delete


If editing a medication, make sure to click Update on the top right when you have made your changes.
Add or Manage a Prescription
When you are enrolled in E-Rx with Healthie, you will have the ability to order and manage prescriptions directly from the mobile app.
Note: Basic client information is required in order to create an E-Rx for a client. This includes:
- Client First and Last Name
- Gender
- Valid Phone Number
- Date of Birth
- Street Address
Please note, height and weight are required fields in the client's profile in order to prescribe for any client 19 years old or younger.
If you are missing this information for a specific client, the Order and Manage Prescriptions button will appear inactive. You can add this information by navigating to the client's profile.
Add a New Prescription from the Mobile App
This experience is consistent with ordering prescriptions from the web application. You'll find a thorough walkthrough here.
After clicking the [ + ] sign, instead of "Add Medication" you will select Order and Manage Prescriptions.

From here, prescribers can Add Prescription or Add Patient Reported medication.

To add a prescription:
- Navigate to the client profile
- Click Add Prescription
- Enter the diagnosis or ICD-10 code
- Search for the medication (brand name or generic) and select the appropriate medication

Once you've selected the medication, you are prompted to fill out the rest of the dispensing order. Make sure to click Save once you have everything entered. You will be able to delete or edit this until you sign for the orders to be sent.
You will be brought back to where pending and active prescriptions are listed.



Once you select medications to send to the pharmacy, you will be prompted to Approve and Send or Approve and Print the Rx.
Edit or Remove a Prescription
Within the E-Rx interface, you can Reorder, Remove, or Reprint Prescription(s) from your client's profile.
Start by clicking the orange [ + ] next to the medication you would like to edit.
When removing a medication, you will be prompted to enter the reason for the change.


Drug Allergy Notifications
Healthie's EHR feature enables providers to collect and document client allergy information. Client allergy information currently syncs between Healthie and DoseSpot, Healthie’s partner for E-Rx.
Any allergies added into the client’s profile will automatically be sent to DoseSpot when issuing a prescription. Likewise, allergy information within the client’s E-Prescribing profile will pull back into Healthie to ensure complete allergy documentation.
Client allergy information can be referenced by navigating to the main Client Profile > Medications, where recorded drug allergies will display alongside the client's medication list.
