Co-sign a Chart Note

Healthie’s Charting Feature enables providers to review and co-sign charting notes from other providers. Co-signing of charting notes can be necessary for collaborative care, supervision of certain providers, legal and regulatory compliance, and billing for some payers.

Charting notes cannot be co-signed by any provider. In order to enable co-signing of notes:

  • Add the supervising provider or co-signer as a client’s Care Team member
  • Ensure that the co-signer has permission to sign other providers’ charting notes

Once the initial provider completes and signs the original charting note that needs review:

  • Initial provider creates a task that is associated with the shared client and assigned to the co-signer(s)
  • Co-signer views task assigned to them by initial provider
  • Co-signer locates the charting note, and clicks Chart Note Options > Sign. They can additionally Lock the note to prevent further edits.
  • The charting note will show signatures from the initial and co-signing providers with timestamps.
