Embedding a video into a program

Healthie's Programs Feature enables providers to build and distribute courses to share with clients. As a part of this, providers are able to add videos to modules as part of a program, which upon timed release, clients are able to view on their computer and mobile devices.

There are two ways to host a video to then add to your Program:

1) Host a video in Healthie Documents

2) Host a video on a third-party platform (Youtube, Vimeo, or Loom)

IN THIS ARTICLE:

1. Host a video in Healthie Documents

Note: There is a file size limit of 50mb, so this is recommended only if you have short videos that you like to share. If your video is larger than this, you will need to use Option 2: Host a video on third-party platform.

  • Step 1:Upload your video (.mp4 file) to your Documents platform
  • Notes:
    • .mov files are not currently supported, so please convert your file to .mp4 prior to uploading into Documents
    • There is a limit to video size directly stored within Healthie's Documents. If you elect not to host your videos externally, we recommend compressing your files:
  • Navigate to Programs > Modules > Add Module
  • Give your module a title (clients will see the title) and indicate on what day you want the video to become available to enrolled participants
  • Select "Document" from the content type > find your video file
  • Click "Add Module"

Using a sharing link to add a video to a program

If you have a video on a third-party video hosting platform such as Youtube, Vimeo, or Loom, you can add these to your Program in Healthie.

  • Upload your video to Youtube, Vimeo or Loom following the instructions for these tools. Once uploaded, you can copy the sharing link (URL Link). Make sure your video is "unlisted" in Youtube, not public or private.
  • Navigate to Programs > Modules > Add Module
  • Give your module a title (clients will see the title) and indicate on what day you want the video to become available to enrolled participants
  • Select "Video" from the content type
  • Paste the URL sharing link for the video
  • Click "Add Module"

Clients will be able to view these videos in-platform, and will not be re-directed to the video-hosting website

Notes

  • If you have a free account on Vimeo and would like to protect the privacy of your videos, please select "Only people with the password".

Deep-dive: Loom Video Upload

When pulling the URL to add into Healthie, please make sure you are using the Embed URL, rather than the share URL, in order for a Loom video to appear in a Healthie Program module.

For example, if your Loom URL is https://www.loom.com/share/12345, please replace the word "share" with "embed" to have it be https://www.loom.com/embed/12345
