Changing Client Package Payments
Healthie enables providers to create client packages for one-time or recurring charges. This allows providers to create subscription services. This article covers common scenarios when editing a recurring package that already has clients enrolled (meaning they are due to have more charges automatically applied to their card).
Adjusting Package Price
If the price set for a package is adjusted, clients already enrolled in the package will maintain their original price. All newly enrolled clients will be charged the new package rate.
If you wish to charge legacy patients a new rate, we recommend stopping their automatic payments and taking one of the following actions:
- Charge the client for a new package
- Manually schedule charge(s) for the remaining payment(s)
- Invoice the client for the remaining payment(s)
Previously, when a package price was updated, all clients with future recurring payments would be charged the updated amount. As of June 2024 the intended behavior is that legacy clients already enrolled in the package will maintain the pricing rate set at the time they purchased the package.
Adjusting Package Payment Frequency
A single package can only have 1 payment frequency; if you would like to offer the same package with multiple payment frequencies, you will need to copy the package and adjust the payment frequency details on the second version of the package.
Adjusting Package Payment Day
Recurring payments are charged to your client based on the date that they purchased their package. For example, if they purchased a weekly recurring package on a Friday, they will be charged the following Friday automatically. If you need to change this payment day, then we recommend pausing the payment until the day of the week desired and then resume the payment.
