E-Labs Direct for Client Packages
E-Labs Direct by Healthie allows providers to seamlessly add Quest, LabCorp, and Bioreference lab tests to client packages, offering a convenient cash-pay option for clients to purchase and complete their labs. Results are automatically sent back into Healthie for provider review, streamlining the entire lab ordering process. No lab vendor account is required—physician services are included as part of the fulfillment. Healthie members on the Practice Plus plan and above can access e-Labs at no additional cost.
This feature comes with a physician's order, so you do not need to be a physician in order to leverage this feature - but licensed providers can also order labs. Clients are required to pay for lab orders out-of-pocket, as labs purchased via Healthie E-Labs Direct are not processed via insurance.
Questions about specific lab tests should be directed to the lab company directly.

Offering E-Labs via Client Packages
Let's walk through the steps on creating a client package that contains lab test(s) for clients to purchase via cash-pay.
Step 1) Create a New Package
Navigate to Billing > Client Packages > Create a New Package
You'll be prompted to fill out Package information, which can include:
- Package name & image
- Package description
- Optional video
- Configurations on which client group(s) you'd like to see this package
Step 2) Add lab order(s) to your package
The great thing about Healthie Client Packages is the ability to include either only lab tests, or also include other services such as appointments or online programs. Many providers bundle lab testing along with their services for more comprehensive care.
- Scroll to Labs section >Search for your desired lab test(s)
- You can add a single test, multiple tests, or search for a lab panel.
You can add multiple lab tests to your package but they must be from the same lab vendor (ie. only LabCorp or Quest Labs). You will not be able to create a package containing labs from different vendors.
Step 3) Configure your package pricing
Continue to the Pricing Tab and add your pricing details, including:
- Billing frequency
- Package price
- Charge immediately or charge client later
More information on pricing can be found below.
Pricing for Labs
When you create a package with an E-Labs Direct lab included, the fixed lab costs and order fees will display in the pricing that you see.
In the example below, the fixed lab costs and fees are displayed in the first row. Once the package is processed, these fees cannot be refunded, should you or your client need a change in labs.
If you are creating a payment plan, the first payment must be equal to or greater than the price of the lab. The first payment cannot be less than the cost of the lab.
You are optionally able to mark up the lab's fixed fees to make a profit on labs that you offer in your business. You can do this by increasing the price of the Package, below the minimum package price that is displayed. The system will prevent you from entering a Package Price that is below the lab costs and fees. You can also also offer a Promo Code with this Package as long as the Promo Code doesn't drop the Package Price below the price of the lab.
Note: When creating a subscription (recurring) package that includes labs, the lab order needs to be paid for in the FIRST payment. The system will not allow you to set the first payment at a rate lower than what the cost of the labs are. The labs will not renew for each subsequent payment.
Labs will be ordered only one time. If you'd like to reorder lab work for a client, please have them purchase the package again.
Client Experience Purchasing a Client Package with Lab(s)
Clients can purchase your package directly. You can embed your package into your website, use a sharing link to include it in emails or buttons, or make the package discoverable within Healthie for your existing customers to find. Learn more about sharing your Client Packages here.
When a client clicks on your package, they will be able to:
- View package details
- Book any associated appointments with their healthcare provider (if included in the package)
- Pay for their package
As a provider, you can enable your settings to receive a notification when a client purchases a package. Learn how to adjust your notification settings here.
Once a client purchases a package, they will receive an email confirmation. This will include their lab requisition order & number, along with instructions on how to book their appointment at a lab-draw site located near them.
Viewing Lab Results
Both the ordering provider and the client, will receive a notification once the lab results are made available. The results will appear in a new Labs tab on your Healthie side menu.
A sample requisition is below.
While the lab should have a copy of the requisition, we recommend you advise clients to bring their own copy to the appointment as well.
