Leveraging Healthie for e-Books & lead magnets

You may find in your business that you'd like to offer a lead magnet, to help attract potential clients and capture email addresses. Examples of content commonly used for lead magnets include e-Books, educations handouts, recipe books, meal plans, and other downloadable content.

Note: this is separate from sharing a resource with a client that already exists within the Healthie platform. Learn more about sharing resources here

Ways to Use Healthie to Share Content

Share Content for a Client to Access Within Healthie

Sharing a resource like an e-Book within Healthie is a secure, and effective way to share content with clients. It can be particularly effective with sharing content as a value-add to a package or service that you offer.

Step 1. Upload your resource to Healthie Documents

The Documents feature within Healthie enables providers to store and share educational resources, recipes, meal plans, and industry handouts. Healthie Documents replace the need for you to keep a local folder on a computer, and can acts as a "Google Drive" or "Dropbox" for you, as you build the library of materials needed in your business.

Step 2. Create a "Package" for your resource

Healthie's " Packages" feature allows you to offer services and products, and obtain a sharing link directly for clients to purchase. If preferred, packages can be marked as FREE. In this case, clients will be able to enter their contact details, but no credit card in order to "confirm" their package.

C reate a new package for your resource:

  • Update the title and description to reflect the content of the e-Book
  • Add an image or select on of Healthie's free package images
  • You may want to associate the package with a client group, that will allow you to distinguish these clients from others (ie. e-Book group)
  • Skip the "included items" section (if you want to simply market your resource as a standalone item)
  • Complete the "payment details" (enter "0" as payment amount if you'd like your package to be free)
  • Grab the "Sharing Link" for your package. Healthie makes it easy to create sharable links that can be used to put into a website button, social account, newsletter, and more.

As mentioned above, you can also share content alongside services and products. While you can't add a document/resource directly to the package items, you can mention the resource within the description.

Here is an example of what clients will see when clicking a package link

Step 3. Share your resource with clients

When a client "purchases" a package, you'll receive a notification (check Settings > Notifications to ensure this is enabled for your account). If the client is new, they will automatically have a Healthie account created for them. You are able to share the resource directly to your client's account. Your client, will receive a notification and be prompted to log into Healthie to view/access their resource.

Your resource can also be shared automatically with a client by:

  • Create a client group within Healthie (ie. e-Book) > Update the sharing settings for your document to share it with group members when they join the group (Tip: make sure your client package is associated with this client group, which can be done in the package details)
  • Add a document to an intake flow, to automatically send along with any (optional) forms

Clients are able to log into their Healthie account > Documents to review or download their e-Book or resource at any time.

Share Content Without Requiring Clients to Log Into Healthie

In some cases, it may be a barrier for clients to have to create a Healthie account (and log in) in order to receive their downloadable item. Here we review how to share the resource without requiring a client log in.

Step 1. Get a hosting link for your resource

Whether it's a spreadsheet, image, PDF, or document, a hosting link offers a single URL that a visitor can click to access the content. The content itself is "hosted" elsewhere. Hosting links can be obtained by uploading your resource to a platform that will store your content and allow you to get a sharing link. Some platforms that enable this is Google Drive, Drop Box, and Amazon Storage.

Whichever platform you utilize, be sure to check that the sharing settings for the link allow for public access -- enabling anyone with the link to access the resource.

Create a new package for your resource:

  • Update the title and description to reflect the content of the e-Book
  • Add an image or select on of Healthie's free package images
  • Skip the "included items" section (if you want to simply market your resource as a standalone item)
  • Complete the "payment details" (enter "0" as payment amount if you'd like your package to be free)
  • Grab the "Sharing Link" for your package. Healthie makes it easy to create sharable links that can be used to put into a website button, social account, newsletter, and more.

Step 3. Edit the email template for your package

Healthie allows you to customize the copy for emails that automatically send to clients. To do so:

  • Settings > Email Templates > Package Purchased
  • Find your Package in the drop-down list
  • Add copy to your email, including the hosting link to your resource

Here is an example of what your client will see:

While your client will not have to log into Healthie to access your resource this way, an account will automatically be created for them. Your client will be listed as an "Active Client" within your account, including their name and email address. Leverage this captured information to continue to marketing to potential prospects.

Some best practices:

  • Make use of Healthie's "Groups" to keep your clients organized within the platform (ie. automatically move a client who purchased your lead magnet into a "Leads" group
  • Export contact details via Healthie reports to be uploaded into your email platform (ie. to add to your newsletter list).
