Zoom: Sharing a Local Recording
Healthie's direct integration with HIPAA-compliant Zoom comes with several features and capabilities designed to create engaging video calls and webinars. Some of these features are automatically included within Healthie's direct integration with Zoom, others can be enabled for your account on request.
Our integration with Zoom is available to all members on Plus plan and above. By default this integration is active for your account ( view your integrations). You do not need a personal Zoom account or subscription, and you do not need to take any action to enable Zoom.
Saving & Sharing a Local Recording
Record locally with Cloud Recording enabled
Cloud Recording and Local Recording use different storage destinations. Enabling Cloud Recording does not disable Local Recording. To save a session to your computer, use the Zoom desktop app and select Record > Record on this Computer rather than Record to the Cloud. Local recording is not supported on Zoom mobile apps (iOS or Android).
Protect locally stored PHI
If a recording contains protected health information (PHI), you are responsible for securing the local file. Encrypt the hard drive, password-protect the computer, and limit access to authorized users. Follow your organization's HIPAA policies for storage, sharing, retention, and secure deletion, including any backup or synced copies. Healthie's HIPAA-compliant Zoom integration does not automatically secure recordings saved on your device; confirm the necessary safeguards with your compliance lead.
If you'd like to save a Zoom video recording to your local device, please follow the local recording instructions provided by Zoom. Once you've saved your video recording, you can then host and share the video.
Outside Video Hosting Options
Alternatively to hosting videos within Healthie, videos can be uploaded to an external video hosting site such as Youtube, Loom, or Vimeo. If you plan to add a video to a Healthie Program, please use one of these 3 hosting platforms only, as other hosting sites are not currently supported.
